Located on the beautiful high plains of northeastern Colorado,
Phillips County's primary industry is agriculture and it is one of the most productive farming and ranching regions in our country.
Phillips County excels through it's school's, educational opportunities, healthcare, access to technology, and a friendly clean
atmosphere. It also provides a variety of services to current , expanding, and new businesses.
Phillips County is proud of the wonderful quality of life and cost of living it offers along with local events,
festivals and abundant wildlife. It is within one hour of many recreational and cultural opportunities including boating,
fishing, water skiing, hunting, biking, hiking, movie theaters, and more.
Phillips County continues to be a national leader in production agriculture.
Agriculture is a main focus in Phillips County as 40% of our income is derived from the industry.
Phillips County continues to be ranked in the top 10 for commodity sales for hogs and pigs, corn for grain,
wheat and other crops. The county is proud of the number three ranking it receives for corn for grain acres and the number
of six ranking for sugar beets. These numbers show the dedication to a technology driven workforce in agriculture production.
Phillips County is nationally recognized by Pheasants Forever as having a wonderful habitat for pheasant hunting.
Coyote, deer, duck, geese and dove are other game animals in abundance for hunting.
Highways
- The major east-west access to Phillips County is U.S. Federal Highway 6
- U.S. Interstate Highway 76 is 30 miles north of Phillips County
- U.S. Interstate Highway 80 is less than one hour north
- The major north-south access to Phillips County is US Federal Highway 385
- Colorado State Highway 59 runs north-south through the County via Haxtun
- Colorado State Highway 23 runs at a diagonal east-west from Holyoke to the Nebraska border
